The partnership between McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House has been woven into the mission from the very beginning. In 1974, what started as an unexpected collaboration grew from a simple but powerful belief that families with seriously ill children should never have to face their journey alone. That belief sparked a movement that now reaches families around the world. From the first House to today, McDonald’s has stood alongside this mission as a founding and forever mission partner, helping turn compassion into action and vision into reality.
Here in Kentucky, that legacy lives on through more than four decades of partnership with local McDonald’s Owner/Operators, crew members, and suppliers. Through fundraising efforts, event sponsorships, volunteerism, and leadership, the McDonald’s family helps ensure families receive care and support at no cost. We are grateful for a partnership that continues to bring the values of service, community, and compassion to life for families served by Ronald McDonald House Lexington.
Since launching in Kentucky in 2021, the Round-Up program has grown into a powerful expression of everyday generosity. With each visit to the register, McDonald’s customers and crew members across Kentucky are helping families stay close when it matters most. Every dollar raised locally supports the families served by Ronald McDonald House Lexington, turning small moments of kindness into lasting impact.
In 2025 alone, Round-Up raised more than $869,000, providing over 6,950 nights of comfort, rest, and stability for families navigating their child’s medical journey. What may feel like a simple choice to “round-up” becomes something extraordinary, creating space for families to focus on healing, hope, and being together.
