For parents and caregivers who cannot leave their child’s side, even for a moment, our Care Carts deliver comfort directly to the bedside. Bright, welcoming, and staffed by compassionate team members and volunteers, each cart brings moments of relief, nourishment, and encouragement into clinical spaces, reminding families they are not alone during some of life’s most challenging days.
Since launching in May 2019, the Care Cart program has grown into a highly visible and meaningful extension of our mission. Today, eight Care Carts serve more than 6,000 families each year across UK HealthCare clinics, offering McDonald’s coffee, snacks, toys, activity books, and specialty items for children undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments, all provided at no cost. What began as a simple act of kindness has become a powerful touchpoint of support, strengthening the experience of care for families throughout the hospital.

In 2025, they deepened that commitment by sponsoring one of our rounding Care Carts inside Golisano Children’s at UK. This co-branded cart is stocked with McCafé coffee, snacks, sweet treats, and comforting items like Elliot bucket trucks and hard-hat stress balls, bringing moments of relief, familiarity, and care directly to families at their child’s bedside.
